I conducted a research internship at the User Experience department of Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) for a year between March 2012 and March 2013. During my time at SCR, I have contributed to 5 different projects as both a user experience designer and a UI prototyper.

Due to the confidential nature of the projects, I am not yet able to show my work but here I provided a brief description of the projects.

This medical imaging application enables surgeons to plan cardiovascular surgeries by segmenting areas of interest in 2D and/or 3D heart data from Computer Tomography and Magnetic Resonance. During this project I was responsible for the user interface design and development of a cutting edge 3D imagining software for a healthcare company which is number one in its field.

• Carrying out workflow analysis
• Creating wireframes ands storyboards for communicating design solutions to the stakeholders
• Transferring design assets into "ready to deploy" UI components and widgets using QT Framework
• Implementing custom UI widgets specifically tailored to user needs and requirements
• Collaborating with both research scientists and engineers from departments such as Computer Vision and Imagining, as well as visual and interaction designers
• Attending customer workshops, user validation sessions and weekly meetings with stakeholders and domain experts
• Creating click sequence and state diagrams for exploring interaction models
• Assisting user research studies

In this project I worked on an industry leading large-scale web platform for controlling smart grid operations. Outcome of the project was an highly interactive web application which is used to manage complex relationships between vast amount of devices, premises, customer accounts, applications, networks and services that could reside in any smart grid.

This goverment project was sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD) as a part of the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP). This large-scale web application is used for managing energy assets of a building by measuring their energy efficiency in real time. It also provides building managers the functionality to optimize their building energy policies and investments by using both real time and simulated data.

• Improving existing design concepts by brainstorming design alternatives and documenting their workflow through wireframes created in Adobe Illustrator

• Created web application prototypes using HTML, CSS and JQuery

In this project I worked on a touch based mobile web application which enables its users to track and manage their energy consumption while achieving their conservation goals.
